2023-2024 SEASON
Each year Southwest Hockey requires parents to take on the roles of Head Coach, Assistant Coach and/or Goalie Coach. These are fundamentally the most important roles on the ice.
If you are interested in joining Southwest Hockey this coming season, there are a few steps that will need to be completed.
Reminder for "RETURNING COACHES"-- You need your HCR ID number to start your registration! If you need to find it, log in to your Hockey Canada account below.

U9 Rink Board Training Sessions
This session will cover setting up, tearing down, changes with floods, and the roles and responsibilities to ensure boards are dealt with in a timely fashion.
NOTE #1: Coaches from the same team do not need to attend the session together. Each coach can choose the time that best works for their schedule.
NOTE #2: Coaches only need to attend ONE (1) session.
NOTE #3: Southwest & the Knights are co-hosting U9 Rink Board Training sessions --- and Hockey Calgary will conduct the training. The reason for co-hosting allows coaches to choose from two (2) dates instead of one (1) date.

SW Hosted Coach Clinics
Southwest will host the Coaching Clinics, instructed by Hockey Alberta to assist in getting certified. This information is being provided to assist Coaches in planning your availability to attend. If you require additional information on the courses or the correct certifications to take please contact the Director of Coaches or Assistant Director of Coaches.
Pre-Registration is required!! There is NO on-site registration.
The registration links to sign up for these specific courses will be sent directly to the SW Coaches as soon as they are available from Hockey Alberta. We expect links to be available early September.
